Das übergeordnete Ziel dieser Studie war es einen Beitrag zu leisten zur Konsensbildung und Transparenz über die Kriterien zur Beurteilung von Züchtungsmethoden. Weiterführendes Ziel war es die Öffentlichkeit für die Wertvorstellungen und Ziele des ökologischen Landbaus zu sensibilisieren und die Bedeutung des Saatguts für unsere Ernährung ins Bewusstsein zu rufen. Eine nachhaltige Produktion von Lebensmitteln aus ökologischem Anbau erfordert eine Optimierung von Sorten und Anbaumethoden. Dringend notwendig ist es, eine Züchtung mit Fokussierung auf die spezifischen Zuchtziele und Anbaumethoden des Ökolandbaus zu etablieren, um Effizienz und Ertragsstabilität der ökologischen Nahrungsmittelproduktion zu erhöhen. As part of the National Animal Health Monitoring System (NAHMS ), USDA:APHIS:Veterinary Services conducted a national study of beef production, the Beef Cow/Calf Health and Productivity Audit (CHAPA). This study was designed to provide both participants and the industry with information on cow/calf health, productivity, and management practices. Data for Part III: Beef Cow/Calf Health & Health Management were collected by federal and state veterinary officers (VMO's) in 18 of the largest cow/calf producing states between January 4 and February 28, 1993. Attack with common bunt (Tilletia caries) is a potential threat to wheat production in organic farming. The situation may even become worse if (in agreement with EU-legislation) only organically produced seed is used in organic farming. The targeted use of resistant varieties could be a way to alleviate the problem. Dans le Sud de la France, la culture du chou rave est essentiellement pratiquée en agriculture biologique ; les maraîchers bio disposent donc de peu de référence sur les techniques culturales (problème récurrent d’hétérogénéité à la récolte) et le choix des variétés adaptées aux conditions spécifiques de culture sous abris en Provence. De plus, l’utilisation obligatoire de semences biologiques ou à défaut non traitées limite le choix variétal. Adaptasyon kabiliyetinin yüksekliği sayesinde, çileğin (Fragaria X ananassa Duch.) çok farklı ekolojilerde yetiştiriciliği yapılmaktadır. Çilek de diğer taze meyve sebzelerde olduğu gibi, özellikle yetiştirme döneminde hüküm süren fungal hastalıklar nedeniyle önemli ürün kayıplarına uğramaktadır. Botrytis cinerea Pers. ex Fr. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo selecionar os genótipos mais eficientes na absorção e utilização de fósforo em solos de cerrado na safrinha. O ensaio foi constituído de 47 tratamentos (genótipos) e foi conduzido na área experimental da Universidade Federal do Tocantins, Campus de Gurupi. Para simular ambientes com baixo e alto nível de fósforo, foram utilizadas doses de 25 e 113 kg ha-1de P2O5 na semeadura, respectivamente. Plant breeding through the development of seeds resistant to water stress or high temperature is an important adaptive strategy to cope climate change. In this way, by providing an analysis of adaptation to climate change using genetic breeding on Brazilian farms, this work aims to investigate how climate change will affect the adoption of genetic breeding and profitability of farmers. Temperature and rainfall projections for 2010-2099 time periods were used, considering different climate scenarios (A1B and A2), according to the 4th Assessment Report of IPCC (2007). Coffee Berry Borer Resistance in Coffee Genotypes BABT

The aim of this study was to evaluate the coffee germplasm of the Paraná Agronomic Institute (IAPAR) for resistance to the coffee-berry-borer. Preliminary field evaluation was performed in August 2004 and the fruits of less damaged genotypes in the field were evaluated under controlled condition with obligated and free choice experiments established in a randomized complete design with three replications. The genotypes were evaluated fifteen days after infestation with one borer per fruit in Petri dishes. The data were analyzed by the Scott-Knott means test at 1 % and by the χ2 test. O gênero Manihot possui aproximadamente 100 espécies e o Brasil, onde cerca de 80% das espécies ocorrem, é considerado o maior centro de diversidade do gênero. As espécies silvestres de Manihot são importantes reservatórios de alelos de interesse a serem transferidos para as espécies cultivadas, visando o desenvolvimento de variedades melhoradas que sejam mais resistentes a fatores bióticos e abióticos e que expressem maior produtividade.

Coleta de germoplasma clonal de guarana. Infoteca-e

Em 1986, foi iniciado um programa de coleta de germoplasma de guarana, visado a introducao de 1000 genotipos, no periodo de cinco anos. A coleta de estacas foi feita em plantas produtivas, resistentes a antracnose, superbrotamento. A baixa frequencia dessas plantas nas populacoes, da ordem de 10%, reduziu o numero de genotipos coletados. Entre 1986-1987, foram coletados 288 genotipos em 25 populacoes, plantados em 1987 e 1988, respectivamente, originando 187 clones.
